A graduate of Wigan St. Patrick's, Thomas followed his grandfather, father and elder brother James into the Wigan professional ranks, making his first team debut against Leeds at Headingley in 2008.
A loan spell with Halifax followed later that year before he made a permanent move to Oldham in 2009, playing a leading role in the Roughyeds march to the Championship 1 Grand Final.
Thomas's consistent performances as the only ever-present in 2011, earned him the accolade of the Players' Player of the Year and a return to Super League rugby.
Thomas's first appearance of 2012 will be his 50th in Widnes colours.
