Vikings invade Liverpool

Wavertree Primary and Stockton Wood Primary School in Liverpool have been visited by the Valhalla Foundation community team recently.

John Foran and Ben Morris have been working with Liverpool Primary Care Trust to deliver rugby league coaching sessions throughout the Liverpool area and both parties are delighted with the response thus far.

The children have taken part in a series of events hosted by John and Ben and according to John Foran, the pupils embraced the sport immediately and took to it like the proverbial duck to water; "From day one, the children listened to what we had to say in our theory lesson and couldn't wait to get out on the pitch and get stuck in.

"Despite being from an area which is more associated with football, if anything the pupils found our game a breath of fresh air and were keen to give it a go."

Ben Morris added; "We're only few weeks into the project but it's been an overwhelming success and we're confident that it will only get better.

"With a bit of luck, we'll hopefully discover the next James Graham for a future Vikings first team!"
