Valhalla Foundation tackling bullying in partnership with UNISON
The Valhalla Foundation are busy in the community again, working in several primary schools to deliver anti bullying workshops, an initiative which has been kindly sponsored by partners UNISON.
The VAB (Vikings Against Bullying) Team is delivering the programme in 16 schools over an eight week period. Uniquely the programme will be delivered by the community team and also members of the Vikings First Team Squad, providing opportunities for young people to meet their heroes.
All participants are given the opportunity to become part of the VAB Team where they become a Vikings Against Bullying member.
Not only do they become part of the VAB Tea, but they also receive all the resources they need to bring bullies down within their school.
First Team star, Anthony Thackeray commented: "The Anti Bullying programme is a really exciting programme for schools to take part in. Bullying is not acceptable and my team mates and I will be tackling bullies in schools with the VAB Team."
All schools who take part are entered into the Foundation's anti-bullying competition and given the opportunity of winning fantastic prizes, including signed shirts and balls presented by first team players.
This exciting project is one of many delivered by the Valhalla Foundation, the charitable arm of the Widnes Vikings. The registered charity is always in the heart of communities delivering a range of initiatives to provide inspiring and educational experiences for the community. The Foundation works with over 20,000 young people per year along with over 10,000 adults through a range of programmes based upon Education, Health, Participation and Inclusion.
