Widnes Vikings to back Halton Haven's Twilight Walk
Halton Haven Hospice's second annual Twilight Walk has been backed by Widnes Vikings.
The walk, which will take place on the 3rd July, will start from Stobart Stadium Halton and walkers will set off on a 10k walk across the Jubilee Bridge to Runcorn's Town Hall, and back again.
The Widnes Vikings are urging all locals who want to be part of a big community event, to get involved.
Mark Smith Hooker for Widnes Vikings explains "This is a great event for the community, one which involves both sides of Halton, the community should get behind the event, just like the Vikings are, and raise valuable money for our local charity"
Walkers who will set of from the Vikings grounds will sit in the stands whilst waiting to take part, and then walk through the famous tunnel before setting off.
There is sure to be a great atmosphere from this event, and local Celebs will be there to get the crowd going before the walk takes place.
Events Manager, Ciaran Clotworthy from Halton Haven Hospice explains "We are looking to make the Twilight Walk bigger and better than last year. We are hoping the Twilight Walk is a must in everyone's calendar and hopes everyone gets involved, no matter what age, or what your physical fitness is."
The Hospice is a registered charity and receives only limited funding - relying almost entirely on the generosity of the local community and businesses, and monies raised by events such as the Twilight Walk to provide much-needed specialist care for local people who have life-limiting illnesses.
If you would like to register for the walk, entrance forms can be sent to you by calling 0151 495 2111 and leaving your name and address with a member of the events team.
