Chemics Cafe - January

6th December 2018

Widnes Vikings hosted a Christmas themed Chemics Café in partnership with Community Integrated Care on Wednesday, welcoming those who live with dementia to the Halton Stadium for a fun-filled afternoon.

Vikings Partner School, Holy Family were on hand to provide entertainment to those in attendance as they performed Christmas Carols.

First team members Brad Walker and Liam Walsh were also in attendance, handing out Christmas gifts before later presenting Vikings shirts which had been donated by Community Integrated Care.

The free-event takes place on the first Wednesday of every month, however in January Chemics Café will take place on Wednesday 10th (rather than Wednesday 3rd) due to the Festive Period.

About Chemics Café

Chemics Café is a fantastic resource for people experiencing the challenges of dementia and is open to all – from people living in local care homes, to people who live independently in the community, as well as family carers and supporters who simply want to volunteer and help out.

The programme is held in partnership with Community Integrated Care, an award-winning social care charity that provides specialist dementia care to people in Halton.

The event gives participants an opportunity to socialise, have fun, and reconnect with their treasured Widnes Vikings memories, amongst iconic memorabilia and trophies. With experienced dementia care professionals attending every event, people can also find practical support and advice on living with the condition.

If you, or someone who you love, is affected by dementia, then find support, friendship and happy times at Widnes Vikings’ Chemics Café.
