In the world of football, the World Cup has arrived, and the nation is gripped by England fever as Gareth Southgate’s men kick off their campaign against Tunisia tonight.

At Widnes Vikings, there has been an international feel too, with call-ups for Danny Walker, Tom Gilmore and Matt Whitley to the England Knights training squad, as well as Youth international honours for Jacob Dugdale.

The Vikings have proudly produced many young players who have had the opportunity to be a part of various national team setups over the last few years. From the Scholarship system all the way up to the first team, there is no shortage of home-grown players who have had the chance to wear the shirt of their national side, whether it be England, Wales, or Ireland.
