Following this morning’s meeting at the DW Stadium, the RFL Match Commissioner and officials from Widnes and Wigan have agreed that tonight’s game will take place.

Every facet, particularly fan safety and the pitch, has been considered and the game will go ahead this evening as planned.

 

Tickets 

Tickets will remain on sale for the fixture until 3pm today from the Vikings Superstore, Tesco Extra, Widnes. By purchasing your tickets directly from the Vikings, Widnes Vikings will receive 25% of the money from your ticket sales.

The club does not receive any income for tickets sold at the DW Stadium on matchday.

 Tickets are priced at:

  • Adults: £22
  • Concessions: £16 (over 60 years and full-time students)
  • Under 16s: £10

 

Further Information

The stadium, surrounding areas and car parks have all been inspected and are in a suitable condition.

Temperatures are not expected to improve greatly this weekend and with a full fixture schedule, both sides were keen for the game to take place.

Local roads are being treated throughout the day and are expected to be safe. However, fans are urged to check their route is safe before travelling.

Fans attending should wear several layers and take the usual precautions for cold weather.

Widnes Vikings thank the DW Stadium ground staff for their efforts in delivering today’s game, as well as the Stronghold Members and supporters who are making the journey to cheer on their team.
