This summer, Widnes Vikings led a special campaign to help take pressure off vital NHS services. The ‘Beat The Scrum’ campaign saw the Vikings players take part in a number of fun and creative video adverts, helping to raise awareness of how people can make the right NHS choices when they are injured or ill.

With more than 100,000 views online and coverage in national media, the campaign was a huge success. It has now been shortlisted for the prestigious Rosa Parks Award at the NHS Academy of Fab Stuff Awards. You can show your support by backing the Vikings in this public vote

To support the Vikings, simply click here and vote for the Club in category four (you are able to skip the other categories, if you wish).

Jay Chapelhow, who helped lead the campaign, says: “We are blown away to hear that we’ve been shortlisted for this award! We had great fun being part of the campaign and it was brilliant to see that the supporters enjoyed watching the videos too.

I’d like to encourage the Vikings’ Members and supporters to back the Vikings in this public vote. Being recognised with this award nomination helps celebrate the Vikings work in the local community and creates further opportunities for the Club. We are really grateful to everyone who shows their support.”
