Widnes Vikings Vice-Captain, Aaron Heremaia, has praised supporters for their continued backing, as the team heads into Saturday’s pivotal fixture against London Broncos.

“This has been a tough year, but our supporters have always turned up and backed us. They’ve been with us through thick and thin, and we really appreciate it”, he says.

“Last weekend, I sat near to our supporters at Hull KR and they cheered on the team all the way. That type of support is really appreciated by the boys. Widnes is a small community and we know that rugby means a lot in this town, so we are determined to do everyone proud in our remaining games.”

The experienced hooker says that the Vikings will be giving everything as they face a London team that has impressed in the Qualifiers.

“London Broncos are a great team, who have been very unlucky in this competition to date. They have a lot to offer, so we need to put in a big performance against them. The team spirit in our squad has always been good, and we will be looking to make our mark in our final home game of the year.”

“As disappointing as last weekend’s result was, destiny remains in our own hands. Everyone is hurting, so we are determined to put things right. We have to approach this game like no other and get back to hitting our highest standards again.”
