Pat Price's famly thank Vikings & supporters

7th August 2017

Pat Price's family have asked for a message to be shared with supporters, following the official naming of The Pat Price Stand at Friday's fixture against Warrington Wolves.

"On behalf of all of Pat’s family, I would like to say a big thank you to Widnes Vikings for this great honour in naming ‘The North Stand’ after mum.

I would also like to thank all the Widnes Vikings supporters who have kept her memory alive, in banners and songs, and also by unofficially naming this stand after her for three years since her passing.

Mum said that “players and coaches may come and go, but the true measure of the club is its supporters.” She would be pleased to have seen so many familiar faces in the crowd on Friday, many of whom had been with her supporting Widnes throughout the years.

In time, her great-grandson, Lincoln, who she sadly never had the opportunity to meet, can one day come here and look up at the stand and be told, “This is named after your great-grandma.”

When he asks why, we can tell him that she was at her happiest supporting this great Club and when she was with her other family…the Widnes Vikings supporters.

Thank you

Joe Price"
