Ashall On Road To Recovery

26th July 2017

Olly Ashall is making good progress in his recovery from a challenging knee injury sustained at the start of the season.

Ashall explains, "Rehabilitation is hard work and can be trying, but I’m pleased with the feedback that I’ve had from physios. I’m aiming to be back for the end of the year, perhaps for the festive derby against Warrington.”

“Hopefully I’m ahead of schedule. It’s a slow process, with lots of ups and downs, but overall its going really well.”

The talented fullback has been boosted by the opportunity to build his fitness on a specialist zero-gravity treadmill.

“I’ve recently started using a machine which carries your bodyweight to take the impact from you when you’re running. It’s been fantastic to have this opportunity and it feels like real progress in my rehab. Hopefully I can get back on the field soon and start running for real soon with the lads."

In a year that has been defined by the impact of the Club’s youth system, Olly says that he has been inspired by the opportunities given to other young players this season.

"The talent we have coming through is brilliant. Phil Finney, and the rest of the youth staff, have done a great job identifying and bringing through these players. It’s been fantastic seeing Danny Walker, Brad Walker, Ted and James Chapelhow, and Jordan Johnstone breaking through this year. I’m looking forward to getting back and showing what I can do in 2018.”
