Hear from some of the greatest heroes of Widnes Vikings' history, and meet our current stars too, at our upcoming 'Lunch with Legends - sponsored by main club partner PlayCasinoGames'.  

On Friday 21st July, the Vikings will be bringing together past and present stars for a unique celebration lunch hosted by well known rugby league compere Pete Emmett. Current confirmed guests are:

  • Mal Aspey - The Vikings greatest ever try scorer, with a phenomenal 236 tries in 575 games. Aspey won the Harry Sunderland trophy in the 1979 Premiership victory, and collected the 1975 and 1979 Challenge Cup winners medals.
  • Ray Dutton - Who played 398 games for Widnes between 1966-1978, scoring an incredible 2195 points.Ray represented Great Britain in the 1970 World Cup and won the 1975 Challenge Cup, where he collected the Lance Todd Trophy.
  • Jim Mills - Jim Mills made 188 appearances for Widnes between 1972-80. He was the enforcer of the Cup Kings era, winning many major honours. He represented Wales and Great Britain with distinction, and was recently the first Rugby League player to be honoured by the Welsh Charitables RFC.
  • Reg Bowden - Reg made 16 major cup final appearances for Widnes, including four Wembley cup finals. Bowden famously captained Widnes in the 1979 Challenge Cup victory over Wakefield Trinity.

They will be joined by Chris Houston and Tom Gilmore, from the current Vikings Leadership Group. 

Tickets are priced at just £25 or £20 for Stronghold Members. Further legends will be announced for the event in the coming weeks. 

The event will run from 12.30pm (1pm start) until 4.15pm and include a two course lunch.
