Widnes Vikings are delighted to offer a project which combines rugby league and health and wellbeing awareness for children and parents in Halton.

'Future Stars' provides boy and girls of primary age the opportunity to play and train like their heroes at the home of the Vikings under the supervision of its award winning community coaching team.

With regular appearances from the Viking’s First Team stars to inspire participants, ‘Future Stars’ will offer a fun and exciting environment for children of all abilities to develop their passing, catching, kicking, tackling and try scoring abilities at Halton Stadium.

Whilst supporting the development of rugby skills is a focus of ‘Future Stars’, the Vikings team will also embed healthy lifestyle sessions into the programme for both participants and parents as part of its partnership with Halton Clinical Commissioning Group. 

‘Future Stars’ will take place Friday evenings at the following times:

  • Reception Children: 4:30pm-5:15pm
  • Year 1 and Year 2 Children: 5:00pm-5:45pm
  • Year 3 and Year 4 Children: 5:30pm-6:30pm


  • 5 Weeks - £20
  • £5 for each individual week


  • Friday 23rd June
  • Friday 30th June
  • Friday 7th July

Week off as the Vikings take on Wakefield Trinity at the Halton Stadium. 

  • Friday 21st July
  • Friday 28th July

Enter via Stadium Fitness at the Halton Stadium, all children will need to wear suitable clothes and boots, while bringing a bottle of water and piece of fruit.
