Widnes Vikings star, Chris Bridge, believes the team are growing in confidence following recent results over Leeds Rhinos and Catalans Dragons, and is determined to enjoy more success in his final year in Rugby League.

Speaking after Sunday's 26-6 victory over the Dragons, Bridge said: "I'm made up with the results, and all the boys are too. It's the first time since last year that we've put back to back wins together, so we're ecstatic and hopefully building something. The confidence is pretty high."

"There was togetherness. We were on the front-foot and we didn't think we'd lose. It was one of those games that everyone enjoyed."

Bridge believes that the Vikings improving form has been supported by the team having greater depth and consistency in its playing squad, after a period of unprecedented injuries.

He explains: "We've been lifted with Rangi Chase and the Warrington boys (Jack Johnson and Sam Wilde) coming in, and getting a few boys back from injury. We seem to be really clicking at the moment - we're playing good stuff, the supporters are really getting behind us, and there's a good feeling about the place."

The veteran centre, who has played 272 professional career games - including spells at Warrington Wolves and Bradford Bulls, will be bringing his career in professional Rugby League to a close at the end of the year.

He's determined to make the most of every moment on the pitch, saying: "I've struggled with injuries, so my boots are going up at the end of the year. All I've ever wanted to do is play rugby, so I'm going to enjoy my last year."
