Craven Extends Vikings Contract

6th June 2017

Widnes Vikings star Danny Craven has renewed his contract with the Club for the 2018 season.

Danny has been with the Vikings since the age of 17 and is a product of its Oustanding Academy system. The talented utility player has played a number of games at half-back this season, and can also play at fullback and hooker. Craven has played 109 professional career games, making his debut for the Vikings in 2010.

Widnes Vikings Head Coach, Denis Betts, says: "The extension of Danny's contract is positive news for the Club. Danny has taken advantage of the opportunity available to him this year. He trained fantastically during the pre-season and has proved to be a real asset to the team."

"Danny is maturing into the player that we always felt he was capable of becoming, and we believe that he will contribute significantly for the remainder of this season and in 2018."

Danny Craven says: "I'm very happy to have signed this extension. I've enjoyed this season and I feel like I've played well. Unfortunately, I've been out for a while with injury, but I'm now fit and looking forward to kicking on for the rest of the campaign."

"I've benefitted from my experience on loan at Featherstone Rovers last year, which gave me plenty of game time. I've been able to carry that through into this season and put together a good run of performances. I'm delighted that this has been recognised with this new contract."

Danny is proudly sponsored by Assured North West.
