Widnes Vikings hooker Lloyd White was of the belief the Vikings' defence won the game in the tie against Leeds Rhinos on Monday.

The experienced hooker was one of the few players to have played in both games over the Bank Holiday weekend, in which the Vikings beat Leeds and came close to overturning league leader Castleford Tigers.

On playing in both games over the weekend - I’m pretty tired, it’s been a tough two games over those three days so it’s nice to get a win. Now it’s time to rest up and get ready for Sunday.

On the reaction of the lads after the win - Obviously we’re all pleased. We felt that we probably should have got something out of the game at Castleford. So we talked about backing it up again and I think the boys put on a good stint today and got the win.

On what he thought won the Vikings the game - We dug deep, we both had the short turnaround over the weekend but I thought our defence was pretty solid all game.

The Vikings take on Catalans Dragons on Sunday 4th June, tickets are still available to purchase. Click here for full ticket information.
