Joe Mellor injury update widnesvikings.co.uk

27th January 2017

Widnes Vikings Co-Captain, Joe Mellor, has given supporters an update on his recovery from injury, following his announcement at our Season Launch Dinner that he will unfortunately miss some early matches in the forthcoming Super League Season.

Mellor was taken off during the Festive Derby fixture against Warrington Wolves on 27th December, and is currently recovering from the knee injury. In this video, he discusses his rehabilitation, the support he's been given from the club and his excitement for getting back onto the pitch early into the season.

Key Quotes

Joe on length of injury - “I’ve got a brace on it for about two more weeks and hopefully get that off and start my rehab.”

Joe on getting injured in pre-season - “If I was going to do it, I’d rather do it now rather than in Round One and missing 12 games. To hopefully miss just 5/6 games is a good thing. The physios have looked after me and done the best for me.”
