Vikings players make Amateur Club appearances

Many of the Widnes Vikings first team squad have made appearances across the Borough at Amateur Club presentations.

Clubs such as Moorfield RFL, Halton Farnworth Hornets, Widnes St Maries Vikings and West Bank Bears have had players such as Matt Whitley, Jay and Ted Chapelhow, Stefan Marsh and Chris Dean come along to their presentation evenings and present awards.

Liam Clark, Education Officer at Widnes Vikings, has spoken of his delight at being able to help local clubs and allow members of the Vikings first team squad turning up to these events.

"It's great that most of the Club's first team squad have been to numerous presentation evenings across the borough," he said.

"To see the smiles and excitement on the children's faces as the likes of Matt Whitley walk into the room is brilliant to see. We pride ourselves on being a Community based club, and the players turning up to these events is another example of this being true.

"With a number of events left for our players to attend, I look forward to seeing many more young rugby players be inspired and happy to mixing with more Widnes Vikings players."
