19-man squad revealed for Bradford Bulls game

Vikings Head Coach Denis Betts has today named his 19-man squad for Sunday's trip to Odsal Stadium, where they will face Bradford Bulls in Rd. 23 of the Stobart Super League.

Missing out on selection for the Vikings are injured duo Ben Cross and Joe Mellor, while Captain Jon Clarke and Cameron Phelps return to the squad having not featured since 8 July and 20 July respectively.

Reflecting on last weekend's Rd. 22 loss to Hull KR at the Stobart Stadium, Vikings back rower Frank Winterstein admits that sometimes there are more lessons learned in defeat than on the back of a win, commenting; "Obviously, we were all bitterly disappointed with last weekend's result against Hull KR. Denis sat us down the day after the game and we looked at some of the good things we did and he also pointed out a number of bad things and old habits we had slipped back into and we're certainly keen to address those issues this weekend against Bradford.

"Throughout the Super League competition, every team has at least 3 or 4 key men and Bradford have plenty right across the park. They've got a lot of size in their forward pack and speed and agility out wide, so we'll definitely have to be on our game and play to the best of our ability. I'm sure if we do this, we'll put ourselves in a great position to win the game."

Vikings from: Ah Van, Allen, Cahill, Clarke, Craven, Davies, Dean, Gerrard, Gore, Haggerty, Hanbury, Isa, Kite, McShane, Marsh, Owens, Phelps, Pickersgill and Winterstein.
