Going, going, (almost) gone!
Wednesday 1st August 2012
Story in brief:Going, going, (almost) gone!
Act now or miss out...
At 16.49pm today (Wednesday 1 August), Simon Finnigan's match worn shirt from the Vikings' Co-operative Championship game versus York City Knights at the Stobart Stadium Halton on Sunday 3 April 2011, will no longer be up for auction on ebay.
This means, your opportunity to secure a piece of modern sporting history will be gone!
Following Widnes' successful Super League franchise bid a few days earlier, to continue the celebrations, the team donned a limited edition ‘third' replica shirt which was only ever worn in this game.
In a colour described as "green for go!", the Super League celebration shirt is the only jersey to date which features the clubs Super League / Widnes Town heritage crest.
Only 100 replica shirts were produced which sold out on the first day of sale. 18 on-field playing shirts were also produced. These are identified by the ‘Official Player Issue' printed on the inside of the collar.
This is your chance to bid for the very shirt worn by the Vikings' captain on the day. The shirt carries Simon's name and his 2011 squad number (13), and will be personally signed by Simon to the winning bidder and delivered in a luxury presentation/display box.
