Widnes Vikings Girls.....Progress report. Story in brief:
Prepared by Karen Smith - Team Manager

Widnes Vikings Girls continue their excellent progress in the North West RFL Leagues.

The U12's team finished top of the league and attended the Champion of Champions finals against the league winners from Yorkshire.  They showed great skill, determination and commitment on a blistering hot day last Saturday at Leigh Miners Rangers. They finished runners up after an excellent game of rugby.

A number of girls from our U14's team have been nominated for Regional trials.  We are certain that with the talent we have in this age group, a high percentage of our girls will be selected for the North West Regional squad for the clash with Yorkshire this weekend, at Castleford Panthers ground.

Our U16's nominated five girls to trials for the Regional Squad.  All five have been selected and again will be playing at the above venue on Saturday 14th July.

Our U14s played a curtain against St Helens before the Widnes Vikings fixture last Sunday.  They showed an impressive amount of skill on field and the game ended in a draw.  This was a fantastic experience for both teams, playing at a Super League venue soaking up the atmosphere and excitement of the day.

You could be a part of the Widnes Vikings Girls, if you are aged between 9 and 16yrs, love rugby league or want to learn how to play 'WE WANT YOU'!

This is a very exciting time for girls rugby league, our numbers are continuing to grow and we are looking to boost our numbers even further.
