Story in brief:DATS the way I like it!
The Vikings is today pleased to announce yet another exciting new sponsor.
Warrington based recruitment consultants DATS, have joined forces with the Vikings in an agreement which will see them become the clubs ‘Official Youth and Academy Partner' for the 2012 season.
The first beneficiaries from this partnership were the U15's and U16's Scholarship squad's whose recent training camp in Coniston amid the picturesque backdrop of the Lake District, was funded by DATS.
Both squads spent a tough two days being put through their paces by Head of Youth Performance Phil Finney and his backroom team with their hectic timetable including a whole host of endurance based drills and exercises including the affectionately known ‘Green Mile', ‘The Road to Nowhere' and ‘Adventure 21's team building activities' on Lake Coniston.
Commenting after the Camp Coniston development project, Phil Finney said; "The excursion was an extremely worthwhile exercise for all concerned.
"The players had an insight into what life can be like as a full time professional rugby league player, whilst the staff had the opportunity to work more closely and spend increased quality time with their squads.
"We'd like to thanks DATS for its very generous and significant contribution to the youth set-up at the Vikings and hopefully this will be the first of many successful ventures between the two parties."
DATS Recruitment Consultants have been recruiting since 1959, providing quality personnel throughout the UK. The company is rightly proud of the reputation it has earned for providing an excellent service and successfully matching people and skills with the right roles and within the time frames agreed with its clients.
Steve Nickson, Chief Executive of DATS explained the reasoning behind the link-up with the Vikings; "DATS has had a link with the club for a couple of years, but we wanted to feel more connected with its youth set-up, which will drive the clubs sustainability and success, over time we would also like to provide employment advice and opportunities to players and look forward to working with the club".
