Vikings name squad for Carcassonne

Widnes will take an 18 man squad to France next Friday

First team squad members Dean Thompson, Danny Hulme, Dave Houghton and Anthony Mullally will line up for the Vikings as they take on Carcassonne in a game to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the French Club. Also included are Danny Crompton and Jack Smith who had been named in the first team squad for the twice postponed World of Beds Cup game against Warrington.

The game takes place on Saturday 23rd January with the squad, coached by Dave Banks and Phil Finney, flying out on Friday and returning Sunday lunchtime. It will be a tough game for the Widnes youngsters but it is seen as part of their development as players and they are looking forward to playing at a higher level.

The squad is; Mark Briordy,Danny Craven, Danny Crompton, Sam Cunningham, Alex Gerrard, Danny Hulme, Lee Hudson, Dave Houghton, Tom Kelly, Dave Kennedy (c), Chris Lunt, Anthony Mullally, Tom Rigby, Greg Scott, Jack Smith, Dean Thompson, Chris Walsh and Tom Wood-Hulme.

Admission to the game, which kicks off at 4pm is 10 euros.
